When a horse died an honoring stick was made and carried in ceremony to honor him. The Horse Society Dance is still performed today

K. CHINO, ACOMA N.M. (KAREN CHINO, ACOMA PUEBLO)

This pot is slip cast. 6 inches high x 7 inches at its widest point approx.  $125 plus shipping

Karen is the daughter of Emmalita Chino. She is a potter who followed in her mother's footsteps. Traditional Acoma pieces are her favorite.

This attractive polychrome pot is decorated in a classic Acoma design. The pot itself has nice solid walls and is nicely shaped, and would look just fine placed next to traditional pottery of past generations. The painted colors are very solid, with a strong sienna brown color predominating, and black solids and lines on white background all around

The item is 20 plus years old and in great condition. It is signed at the base.
